Join a team that's passionate about animal welfare and improving lives. We're seeking a dedicated Veterinarian to join our growing team of 5 vets and support staff at Charles River Laboratories. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the highest standards of animal health, welfare, and ethical compliance across a broad range of species.
What You'll Do:
* Act as deputy Named Veterinary Surgeon under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act
* Provide clinical care and support across a variety of laboratory and farm animal species
* Deliver expertise in surgery, anaesthesia, ophthalmology, and veterinary support for ongoing studies
* Support compliance and welfare initiatives alongside the Animal Welfare and Ethical Review Body
* Contribute to case management, record keeping, and veterinary best practices
* Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota (not onerous)
What We're Looking For:
* Degree in Veterinary Medicine
and
eligibility for RCVS membership
* Clinical experience with strong skills in medicine and surgery
* Good observational skills and fine motor coordination
* Strong communication skills to liaise with teams, clients, and regulators
* Prior experience in laboratory animal medicine is a plus (training provided)
