At Finning (UK) Ltd, the world’s largest CAT dealership, we’re looking for a passionate and skilled Rebuild Repair Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is your chance to work in a large workshop environment, focusing on the reconditioning and maintenance of Caterpillar products within the Construction Equipment product group.
Your Role
As a Rebuild Repair Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our machinery operates at peak performance. Your expertise in electrical, hydraulic, and engine troubleshooting will be key to supporting our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Do
* Conduct detailed inspections of machines to assess repair needs and provide commercial evaluations.
* Perform standard diagnostic tests on components for accurate cost evaluations and warranty agreements.
* Create comprehensive lists of parts and materials required for machine preparation.
* Carry out overhaul, repair, or refurbishment work according to agreed plans.
* Inspect and test completed machines to ensure they meet expected performance levels.

Knowledge & Experience
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* A deep understanding of service manuals and computerized Service Information Systems (SIS).
* Practical knowledge of tooling and specialized equipment for heavy machinery repairs.
* Experience in rigging, slinging, and jacking procedures.
* Electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical fitting knowledge.
* A background in plant machinery or similar industries (HGV/agriculture) is preferred.
* A valid license to drive reach trucks.
* At least 5 years of experience in a quality service environment.
