Working alongside experienced developers, analysts, and BI professionals, you will contribute to real projects that deliver measurable business impact while building foundational skills in programming, analytics, automation, and technology enablement.**This internship offers exposure to the full lifecycle of solution development—from discovery and requirements gathering through implementation and user adoption. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, learn industry-leading tools and methodologies, and contribute to PLM's mission of becoming a technology-enabled, service-first organization supporting Kroger Co. and internal stakeholders.*## ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:**General*** This hybrid position will be required to work in our Corporate Office two days per week based on your team's schedule.* Participate in team meetings, discovery sessions, and cross-functional workshops to understand business needs.* Communicate progress and findings with internal personnel and occasionally external partners.**Software Development & Automation*** Assist in designing, building, and maintaining software tools, automation scripts, and analytical applications.* Develop and test code using Python, R (RStudio), SQL, and other developer toolkits.* Support the identification of opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual tasks through automation.* Assist in building and testing automated solutions using tools such as Power Automate, Office Scripts, or Python.* Contribute to version control practices (Git/GitHub) and follow team development standards.* Participate in troubleshooting and debugging of applications, data workflows, and system integrations.**Analytics & Business Intelligence*** Assist in the development and enhancement of reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Excel, R Shiny, and SQL.* Support the development of internal dashboards, ETL processes, and data pipelines.* Support data collection, validation, and analysis from various internal systems and data sources.* Help identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support data-driven decision-making.* Query and transform data using SQL and assist with maintaining data accuracy and integrity.**Collaboration & Documentation*** Collaborate with the BI and Technology teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.* Document processes, workflows, code, and technical specifications for developed solutions.* Help develop training materials and user guides to support solution adoption.* Support project management activities including documentation, status tracking, and stakeholder communication.**Learning & Professional Development*** Stay current with foundational software engineering principles, data analytics tools, and best practices.* Actively seek feedback and coaching from mentors and team members to accelerate skill development.* Participate in exploring emerging technologies including AI applications that can enhance business operations.* Complete an intern project that demonstrates applied learning and delivers value to the organization.* Present project outcomes and key learnings to the Technology team at the end of the internship.*Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation*## MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, or related field.* Expected graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028.* Coursework or experience in at least one programming language—Python preferred; R/RStudio is a plus.* Familiarity with SQL and database concepts.* Basic understanding of data analytics, data structures, or software development fundamentals.* Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.* Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
