Jedburgh Medical Practice
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our busy and expanding Administrative Team in the role of Patient Advisor.
This is an important front-facing role within the Practice, where you will be the first point of contact for patients and external agencies, ensuring they access the most appropriate services in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner.
Hours of Work (26 hours per week):
1. Monday 830am-6pm
2. Tuesday 1230pm-6pm
3. Wednesday 12pm 6pm
4. Friday 12pm-53pm
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will undertake a range of administrative and patient-facing duties, including:
5. Receiving, assisting, and directing patients to the appropriate healthcare professional or service in a courteous and efficient manner
6. Handling telephone and face-to-face enquiries from patients, secondary care, and external agencies, and directing them appropriately
7. Booking appointments for GPs, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, and Physiotherapists
8. Issuing repeat prescriptions in line with practice guidelines
9. Managing correspondence, including scanning letters onto patient records
10. Accurately inputting clinical data, including outcomes from hospital clinics and practice appointments
11. Copying and scanning health records in accordance with GDPR
12. Supporting practice filing, storage, and archiving procedures
13. Maintaining strict confidentiality at all times in line with Data Protection and Information Security Policies
14. Using clinical systems such as EMIS and Docman on a daily basis
About You:
We are seeking an individual who:
15. Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
16. Is organised and able to work in a busy environment
17. Is confident using IT systems (experience with EMIS and Docman is desirable)
18. Demonstrates a strong commitment to confidentiality and data protection
19. Works well as part of a team and follows established protocols and procedures
