Responsibilities of this role:
* Undertake statutory assessments and interventions under the Children Act 1989 to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
* Work directly with children and families to develop and implement child protection plans, child in need plans, and support care proceedings where necessary.
* Apply a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach to support families in making sustainable changes and reducing risk.
* Collaborate with multi-agency professionals including health, education, and police to ensure coordinated and effective safeguarding responses.
* Facilitate family meetings and planning sessions to empower families in identifying solutions and building resilience.
* Maintain accurate and timely case records, ensuring all practice is compliant with relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
* Manage a varied caseload, balancing urgent safeguarding concerns with longer‑term support and intervention.
* Participate in reflective supervision and contribute to continuous service improvement through feedback and learning.
Requirements of this role:
* Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
* Must have minimum of 3 years post qualifying social work experience.
