Job Title: Science Teacher - Maternity Cover
Location: 3 Dimensions School, Somerset, TA20 3AJ
Salary: up to £39,500 per annum depending on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm
Contract: Fixed Term – Sept 2026, Term Time Only

We are part of Outcomes First Group and are trialling a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours) while receiving full-time pay.
We are actively growing and welcoming applications as we prepare to roll out 4DWW where possible.
About the Role
We are looking for an outstanding SEND classroom practitioner to lead Science across our school. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching and learning in Science and will have the ability to develop secure relationships with our pupils and develop staff in a team which prides itself as being collaborative and supportive.
You will be:
* Managing the provision of individual classroom support, small group work, 1:1 withdrawal sessions as well as the differentiation of learning resources and development of appropriate teaching and learning styles for students.
* Responsible for the deployment of support staff, evaluating and monitoring the effectiveness of SEND provision, reporting as required to the SLT and Governing Body.
* Working closely with external agencies to ensure our students get the best possible support to be able to achieve their potential.
* Leading staff INSET opportunities around Individual Needs and ensure all staff are aware of new SEND initiatives and developments in legislation.
* Expected to teach some lessons in your subject to engage larger groups of students in areas of interest and expertise.

Key Skills Required
* UK Qualified Teacher Status
* Background of teaching Science, delivering teaching at a good or outstanding level
* Knowledge of current education issues in relation to terms of practise, process and curriculum
* Experience working within an educational setting, supporting autism and challenging behaviour
* Effective communication skills with the ability to build ongoing positive relationships with pupils
