SEMH/ASD Cover Supervisor Long-term Teachers work on behalf of a brilliant secondary special school in Swindon that are looking for a full-time cover supervisor to join the team from September. The role of cover supervisor is essentially to lead classes with pre-planned cover when the teacher is absent, as well as providing additional TA support. The school looks after students aged 11-19 that have a range of special needs but are primarily focused around SEMH & ASD. The school are very proud of the important work they do and require someone who is fully invested in their vision of making a real difference in these children's lives. Due to the nature of the students it is vital that you feel confident in dealing with challenging behaviour. The role is suitable to a variety of different applicants, so you could be an experienced TA looking for more responsibility and experience leading a class, a teacher from abroad looking for experience leading classes in UK schools or a teacher looking to simply deliver pre-planed lessons without the marking!
