The Role
This is a hands-on role within the TrakCare Team of the Digital Transformation division within the wider Digital (eHealth) department. Digital supports a diverse range of services within the local organisation in addition to external parties and suppliers. You will be responsible for the ongoing management of the systems in the team’s remit (currently TrakCare, Patientrack and eTriage).
Responsibilities
* Assist and advise on the ongoing management and development of the systems within the team’s remit
* Provide advice and support to the users on the systems within the team’s remit
* Work with suppliers to configure applications
* Investigate ways of better utilising systems within the team’s remit for service users
* Assist with the implementation of EHCR within NHS Lanarkshire in line with our digital strategy
* Support the work of junior application support team members involved in the ongoing maintenance and development of the systems
* Participate in the weekly change control group and cover the administration tasks associated with this when required
Qualifications
* Post holder will have a degree level or equivalent experience, preferably in a computer related discipline
* Significant experience in a senior technical support management role in an information technology department
* Experience and evidence (training courses etc.) in an enterprise RDMS from vendors such as Microsoft or Oracle
* Skilled in up-to-date server operating software particularly from vendors such as Microsoft
* Skilled in the use of standard desktop software i.e. Microsoft Office suite
* Knowledge of Clinical Diagnostic, Patient Management, Clinical Support & Business Services use within healthcare
* Proven experience of supervising other staff
* Must be able to drive and have a current driving licence
* Familiar with principles and methods of project management
* Optional: Qualified in an IT related subject
* Proven track record in the support of TCP/IP networks and MS Windows server operating systems
* Detailed knowledge in the management and support techniques required to maintain Microsoft products that include operating systems and SQL Server as well as the MS Office suite of applications
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
* Ability to work as a team player as well as on own initiative to achieve targets set by the IT Helpdesk or IT Management
* Ability to work under pressure and to fixed time scales
* Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
