The IT Systems & Network Administrator will report directly to the Senior IT Systems Administrator and will be responsible alongside other system administrators for the administration of all company computer systems (excluding the ERP system). The role will require a variety of system and network skills to provide a reliable, comprehensive and diverse IT platform to assist the business in meeting its goals and responsibilities.
The role will require taking an active part in the continuous development of IT systems by providing data and systems in a manner that the business can use to its advantage. Research and development of new systems will be required to help the business gain a competitive advantage over the competition and bring further efficiencies. Specific areas of involvement will be;
Microsoft 365 (M365), SharePoint, and Teams Support:
* Assist in the administration of M365 applications, such as Exchange Online, OneDrive, and SharePoint, to ensure their reliable performance and security.
* Provide support for SharePoint site configurations, lists, libraries, and permissions.
* Collaborate in the management of Microsoft Teams for effective team collaboration and communication.
VMware Infrastructure and Network Storage:
* Participate in the management of virtualized environments using VMware technologies, learning to ensure high availability and efficient resource allocation.
* Assist in the administration of network-attached storage (NAS) and storage area network (SAN) systems for data storage and retrieval.
Network Infrastructure and Wireless Technologies:
* Learn to configure and manage network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
* Gain exposure to VLAN configurations to optimize network segmentation, security, and performance.
* Assist in the management of wireless networks to ensure reliable connectivity and coverage.
* Learn about MikroTik routers and networking devices, understanding their role in efficient traffic routing and network optimization.
* Gain insight into MikroTik administration principles and troubleshooting techniques.
System Monitoring, Performance Optimization, and Security:
* Participate in the implementation of monitoring tools to proactively manage system performance and security.
* Learn to identify performance issues, hardware failures, and security vulnerabilities, and collaborate on their resolution.
* Collaborate with the security team to implement and enforce security measures and compliance standards.
Integration, Collaboration, and Learning:
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the integration of IT systems within the network infrastructure.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IT systems with network infrastructure and wireless technologies.
Network Storage Solutions:
* Administer network-attached storage (NAS) and storage area network (SAN) systems.
* Optimize storage capacity, performance, and data backup processes.
* Implement and maintain data retention and disaster recovery strategies.
System Administration Support:
* Assist in the administration and maintenance of various IT systems, including servers, workstations, and software applications.
* Participate in system installations, configurations, and updates under the guidance of senior administrators.
Documentation and Support:
* Contribute to the development of documentation for system configurations, network topology, and troubleshooting procedures.
* Provide basic technical support to end-users and assist in issue resolution.
* Offer timely technical support and issue resolution to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
