Job Title: EC&I Engineer – Capital Project Delivery (Remote, UK)
Contract Type: 12 Months
Day Rate: £600–£700/day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Overview
Our client is looking for an EC&I Engineer to support the electrical, control, and instrumentation scope of a major capital project in the chemical manufacturing sector. The role is remote with travel (approx. 25%) to Chilton, Clitheroe and Glasgow.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver EC&I engineering scope in collaboration with EPCM partners
* Review and approve designs for DCS systems, ATEX/DSEAR compliance, and functional safety
* Support hazard studies, commissioning planning, and technical documentation
* Ensure alignment with client standards and regulatory requirements
* Provide technical leadership and issue resolution
Requirements
* Degree-qualified EC&I engineer with chartered status preferred
* 10+ years’ experience in electrical and control systems engineering
* Experience with Emerson DeltaV or similar DCS platforms
* Knowledge of COMAH regulations and high-hazard environments
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
