Overview
Location: SW18
MM is a 23-year-old man with Down Syndrome, Severe Learning Disabilities and Scoliosis. MM also has a fluctuating hearing impairment and a visual impairment.
MM uses verbal and Makaton signs to communicate. He enjoys a range of activities, such as: travelling on the bus and tube, going for walks, using his iPad, watching Friends on television, theater and live music, gardening, and tearing paper to make "snakes". He is a supporter of Fulham Football Club and attends daytime activities. MM is sociable, friendly, and a keen learner. He would like find a PA that is fun and who would enjoy interacting with him.
MM requires support in the morning and afternoons on Wednesdays (8am-10:30am & 3pm-7pm), Thursdays (8am-10.30am & 3pm-9pm), and Fridays (8am-10:30am & 3pm-7pm). Morning support is required to help him get ready and travel to his day services. Afternoon support is required to help him remain engaged. On alternate Fridays he will need to be supported until his mother returns from work (up to 7pm). Support will include food shopping, meal preparation, cooking, and preparing for bed.
Experience working with people who have a significant learning disability is desirable.
21.5 hours p/week; £15.90 p/hour
