Job Role: In house Service Engineer

Overview:
As a Service Engineer, you will support the service team in maintaining and repairing a variety of hire equipment, learning hands-on skills in plant and tool maintenance. This is an entry-level role, ideal for someone with a mechanical interest or early engineering experience who wants to develop into a fully qualified service engineer. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers, gradually taking on more responsibility as your skills progress.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist senior engineers with servicing, repairing, and maintaining plant, tools, and hire equipment.
* Carry out basic inspections, cleaning, and safety checks on returned equipment.
* Learn to diagnose and fix minor faults under supervision.
* Support with pre-delivery checks to ensure equipment is ready for hire.
* Keep service areas, tools, and equipment clean, organised, and safe.
* Maintain accurate records of work carried out.
* Provide polite and helpful customer service when required.
* Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
Skills & Experience:
* Some mechanical or electrical knowledge (through study, work experience, or personal interest).
* Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
* Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
* Good attention to detail and problem-solving approach.
* Strong work ethic and enthusiasm for hands-on work.
* Driving licence beneficial, but not essential at entry level.
