Are you a construction professional looking for a new challenge away from site work?Were looking for a practical, hands-on Construction Technician to support the delivery of Construction Trades programmes at Peterborough College. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your industry knowledge to help train and inspire the next generation entering the construction sector.This role would suit someone looking to step away from the pressures of site-based work while still remaining connected to the construction industry and sharing valuable skills and experience with others.The Construction Technician will be working full time (37 hours per week), all year round on a permanent basis.We welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds across construction trades.You do not need extensive teaching experience to apply if you have strong industry experience and enjoy supporting and developing others, we would love to hear from you. Training and support can be provided for candidates looking to move into education.What youll be doing as a Construction Technician: Supporting learners within practical workshop environmentsAssisting teaching staff with vocational training activitiesDemonstrating construction techniques, tools, and equipmentMaintaining a safe, organised, and professional workshop environmentSupporting students to develop practical industry skillsManaging workshop stock, materials, and equipmentPromoting safe working practices and health & safety standardsWhat were looking for: Experience within the construction industryPractical knowledge of construction tools, materials, and equipmentGood communication and teamwork skillsA positive, proactive, and supportive approachAn interest in helping develop young people and learnersOrganised and safety-conscious working practicesTeaching or training qualifications are welcomed but not essential, as support can be provided to work towards these.Why work for IEG?Generous Leave: 30 days of annual leave, plus Bank Holidays and Christmas close down.
