They are actively seeking a talented, professional Principal Civil Engineer with extensive experience in infrastructure design, willing to take on a variety of challenging projects alongside a growing team of professionals, based in the beautiful, historical Scottish Capital City of Edinburgh.

Responsibilities for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
7. Overseeing the design of a wide array of engineering developments
8. Managing the day-to-day running of all engineering projects, including finances, resources, schedule, and successful delivery and implementation
9. Mentoring and supporting colleagues throughout their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) within the company
10. Liaising with and managing clients and stakeholders, across the public and private sectors
11. Preparing, checking, and submitting technical reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and method statements
12. Adhering to and enforcing company policies, policies, and best practice, upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
13. Contributing to the company’s business development and growth, acting as a representative at client meetings, site visits, etc.
Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
14. A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
15. Hold Chartered Status
16. Extensive experience of working in a design capacity, within a UK consultancy setting
17. Considerable experience of working with infrastructure (highways and drainage), housing developments, and energy projects
18. Experience of earthworks and drainage network modelling
19. Highly proficient in the use of various software packages, including Civils 3D, InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, and similar
20. Demonstrable experience of writing, correcting, and amending a variety of reports
21. Experience of managing projects and people
22. Considerable experience of managing client and stakeholder relations
23. Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
24. Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
25. Prior experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments
26. Some experience of preparing Transport Assessments
27. Experience of working in a public-facing role
