Well, look no further! We are looking for an experienced special needs Learning Support Assistant for various primary schools in Romford. We are seeking someone comfortable with and experienced in working with a variety of SEN needs.
We are looking for someone who provides a happy and inclusive environment for all, helping children to achieve to the best of their ability, and someone who thrives in a creative and supportive environment.
Job Duties:
1. Support: Provide 1:1 support to students with SEN in a classroom setting
2. Assist Teachers: Help implement individual education plans tailored to students' needs
3. Use Effective Approaches: Monitor and supervise students during class activities, assisting them in understanding instructions and tasks
4. Manage and De-escalate Behaviour: Use positive reinforcement and behaviour management techniques to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour when needed
5. Nurture Positive Relationships: Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in the students' education while maintaining detailed records of each child's progress
6. Contribute to a Positive Learning Environment: Help create a positive and inclusive atmosphere, supporting students in integrating into school life

8. Valid DBS check or willingness to apply for one
9. Prior experience working with students with special educational needs
10. Understanding of different learning styles and the ability to adapt teaching methods where needed
11. Patience and empathy when working with students
