To prepare, bake and display product in the department in a careful, clean, neat, and expedient manner while ensuring that all product is fresh, rotated, and well-stocked for our customers while maintaining great customer service.
Starting pay $15.40 per hour
Responsibilities
* Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service or assistance.
* Commit to the “Golden Rule” and work with other associates to build a strong bakery team.
* Achieve the highest associate morale in the industry by working in a style that is Respectful, Supportive and Totally Team Oriented (RSTO).
* Assist in receiving and unloading of merchandise. Check and verify receiving to ensure that items listed on vendor invoices are all delivered. Check products for quality, count, and condition.
* Keep all bakery ingredients or merchandise rotated in accordance with company policy and product code dates and always make use of the oldest products first (first in, first out).
* Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory control.
* Handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods.
* Take stock to storage or shelf areas.
* Prepare all baking mixtures in accordance with established company or department procedures and recipes.
* Pan up frozen products and pan and roll up bread.
* Load and unload over. Know the proper temperatures and duration to bake all varieties of products.
* Operate mixer and write on cakes/prepare product to meet customers specifications.
* Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations including full compliance with all applicable laws pertaining to safety, health and packaging requirements.
* Practice the “Cleaner’s Creed” and proper sanitation procedures.
* Maintain a neat, well groomed personal appearance at all times and observe company dress code, along with wearing approved hat or hair net.
* Keep display cases, cooler and freezer organized and clean, along with cleaning walls, fans, drains, equipment, utensils, and work tables. Wipe counter tops and front display cases.
* Exercise proper safety practices when lifting or moving product or using equipment.
Secondary Job Functions
* Restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest cost supply.
* Promote items on public address system.
* Notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark downs or property defacement.
* Other duties as assigned by management.
Physical Demands & Safety
* Physical Demands: Frequent standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, reaching, and manual dexterity.
* Frequency: 1-33% Occasionally; 34-66% Frequently; 67-100% Continuously.
* Safety Risk Factors: Loud noise, cluttered floor surface, contact with skin irritant, toxic exposure, nuisance dust, fumes, sprays, and hazardous cleaning solutions.
Machines, Tools & Equipment
* Fryer, bread slicer, ovens, proofer, mixer, scales, case cutter, and other bakery equipment as listed in the role description.
