About the Role
We are looking for an experienced
Accountant & Office Manager
to join our London-based property business. This is a hybrid role combining hands-on accounting with day-to-day office and operations management. The ideal candidate will have strong financial expertise and excellent organisational skills, ideally with experience in the property or real estate sector.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Duties (Property Focused):
* Maintain financial records for property transactions, income, and expenses
* Manage accounts payable and receivable for tenants, landlords, and contractors
* Prepare service charge accounts and reconcile property-related expenses
* Process rent payments, deposits, and refunds accurately
* Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
* Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with UK tax regulations
* Liaise with auditors, banks, property managers, and external stakeholders
Office Management Duties:
* Oversee daily office operations and ensure smooth workflow
* Manage office supplies, contractors, and vendor relationships
* Coordinate schedules, meetings, and correspondence with clients and partners
* Maintain tenant and property records (digital and paper-based)
* Support HR with staff records, onboarding, and compliance
* Ensure office policies and procedures are followed
* Provide administrative support to directors and the wider property team
Skills & Qualifications
* Proven experience in accounting, ideally within the property or real estate sector
* Knowledge of property management systems and accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or property-specific tools)
* Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
* Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or part-qualified) is desirable
