Specialist Practitioner and Supervisor- MHST and CWP

Weare recruiting a full-time Band 6 Specialist Practitioner and Supervisor(trainee or trained) to join Children and Family Health Devon within the MentalHealth Support Teams (MHST) and Child Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) services.

Therole supports an early intervention pathway for children and young peopleexperiencing mild to moderate anxiety and low mood, and contributes towhole-school approach work in education settings. For trainee applicants, thereis an opportunity to complete the PGCert in Clinical Supervision ofPsychological Therapies Practice at the University of Exeter.

MHSTsacross Devon and Torbay include Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs)and CWPs who deliver evidence-based interventions in schools. The post-holderwill provide clinical supervision, support staff practice, and help maintainconsistent and safe care. Main duties of the job

Thepost-holder will provide clinical supervision to EMHPs and CWPs working withinthe MHST and CWP pathways. The role includes supporting staff to deliverevidence-based low intensity interventions for children and young people withmild to moderate mental health needs.

Youwill contribute to the delivery and development of the early interventionpathway, including supporting whole-school approach activity in partnershipwith education settings. You will ensure safe, effective, and consistentpractice across the team, and contribute to service improvement within adeveloping and expanding model.

Youwill work closely with colleagues across Children and Family Health Devon,maintain accurate clinical documentation, use routine outcome measures, andparticipate in supervision, training, and professional development.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* A professional qualification at degree level or equivalent (Psychological profession, Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Social Worker etc.) or successful completion of the post-graduate EMHP (or CWP) CYP-IAPT training
* Active registration or appropriate accreditation with professional body (NMC, HCPC, BACP, BABCP) or registration with the appropriate body when this is possible for Li-CBT postgraduate qualifications
* Recognised qualification in evidenced based therapeutic intervention for children/young people and their families/carers
* Completion of parallel IAPT supervisor training programme within first year of taking on the post if this is not already in place
* Training to level 2 in Safeguarding Adults and level 3 in Children and Young People: roles and competencies for Health Care staff


Experience

* Substantial experience of managing an extensive and complex caseload and working with children/young people presenting with a range of moderate to complex mental health presentations
* Working within a community mental health setting
* Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment
* Experience of delivering CBT-informed interventions and supervision
* Substantial proven experience of delivering CBT
* Providing clinical supervision
* Participation in user involvement in services
* Mentoring students in line with professional requirements
* Experience working within Early Intervention and Prevention Services
* Experience delivering training to a diverse audience
* Experience presenting to a large and diverse audience
