Job Description Customer and Product Training Instructor Derby, UK Hybrid What you will be doing: Occasional delivery of engine maintenance training primarily to Airline customer personnel both in the classroom and workshop environments to CAA, EASA and DGCA part 147 accredited standards. Maintenance and production of current and new training course material to ATA 104 and Part 66 requirements. Support of internal audits of our processes and practices relative to CAA, EASA and DGCA part 147 requirements. Continual improvement to current training material and methods of delivery including but not excluding the use of modern digital platforms and methods such a Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR) and Apps. Maintenance of the media supplier relationship to ensure quality and value. Occasional delivery of training courses either in the UK at the Customer Training Centre in Derby or Singapore and at in country locations dependant on customer preference. Also, whilst delivering training to Airline customer delegates the Customer and Product Training Instructor may be seen as an expert, and representative of Rolls-Royce plc on the subject being delivered so must be comfortable with the responsibility that brings. Be responsible for developing, maintaining and delivering safe practical (hands on) customer training courses whilst promoting the correct use of PPE, tools, equipment and maintenance procedures. When delivering training the Customer Training Instructor must feel comfortable guiding and leading delegates through their learning journey ensuring, high quality customer training is delivered successfully and to the correct standards. Supporting the optimisation of our training offerings, and course delivery for cost and value for money. Actively seeking cost reduction opportunities. Support the identification, development and delivery of opportunities for Customer and Product Training to become a self-sustaining business to enable the training solutions we offer to remain up to date and current with industry best practice and standards that are aligned to our Airline Customer requirements and expectations, some of which may be bespoke. The Training Instructor’s role is a key element in maintaining our training material, processes and facilities to CAA, part 147, part 66, DGCA and ATA 104 standards. The instructor role is also pivotal in ensuring course material, processes and facilities are kept up to date and are subject to audit at least annually (internally and externally) by the regulatory authorities. Excellent communication skills and the confidence to lead and deliver training material in a classroom and workshop environment. Confidence that allows you to be comfortable in teaching and discussing the subject matter in front of people from all nationalities, cultures and experience levels. Presentation skills along with excellent diction allowing students, especially for those whose first language may not be English, to understand the subject matter being delivered to examination standard. Good in-depth technical understanding of gas turbine civil large engine products at a whole engine level. Good understanding of aero engine maintenance, overhaul, or new engine activities, methods and associated documentation. Knowledge of on-wing aero engine activities would be advantageous. Ability to seek and offer new ideas, see the bigger picture and deliver improved methods of delivery and training through to completion and implementation. Recognise the use of new digital software or platforms for use in the training and administrative environments. Able to understand and simplify detailed technical documents and convert the subject matter to easily understandable text and simplified diagrams for training purposes. Discuss and resolve people issues whilst staying calm and being aware of who the students represent. Comfortable with worldwide travel, sometimes at short notice.
