Job Title: Security Engineer
Location: Welwyn Garden City
Remuneration: Daily rate from £750
Contract Details: Fixed Term Contract (6 months)
Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute queries to enable robust threat detection across various platforms.
* Leverage your working knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems to enhance security measures.
* Collaborate with team members while also being capable of working independently to tackle security challenges.
* Understand and analyse modern attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to fortify defences.
* Translate threat intelligence into actionable detection logic, ensuring our systems remain secure.
* Maintain a solid grasp of detection technologies to stay ahead of potential threats.
* Demonstrate a broad understanding of security concepts and exhibit a genuine passion for cybersecurity.
* Apply an analytical approach to problem-solving, especially when working on production systems at scale.
* utilise query languages such as KQL (Kusto Query Language) to optimise detection capabilities.
* Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, Batch, and PowerShell to streamline processes.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Proven ability to develop queries for effective threat detection.
* Strong knowledge of operating systems: Windows, macOS, and Linux.
* Experience in translating complex threat intelligence into practical applications.
* Familiarity with modern attacker TTPs and detection technologies.
* Demonstrated passion for cybersecurity and a proactive approach to learning.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in query languages, particularly KQL.
* Experience in developing automation scripts in various programming languages.
