We are seeking an experienced Market Access Manager to lead the development and execution of market access strategies across European markets. This role will combine scientific expertise with strategic leadership, supporting both early and late-stage assets across a range of therapy areas, including rare diseases, specialist oncology, and neuroscience.
This position is a fully remote, 6-12 month part-time freelance contract with a likelihood of extension.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and execution of comprehensive market access strategies, including pricing, reimbursement, and value demonstration across European markets
* Manage and mentor a team, ensuring high-quality delivery across multiple projects and fostering professional development
* Develop and deliver value communications, including value dossiers and payer materials that clearly articulate clinical and economic benefits
* Drive integrated evidence generation (IEG) strategies and contribute to early asset strategy, shaping access pathways from early development through to launch
* Conduct in-depth landscape assessments, including competitive analysis, payer environment mapping, and access pathway evaluation
* Review, interpret, and translate HTA requirements and reports into actionable strategies to support successful reimbursement outcomes
* Lead and moderate payer advisory boards, gathering insights to inform access strategies and evidence planning
* Oversee and contribute to primary market research (PMR) with payers and key stakeholders to refine value propositions and access approaches
Candidate Profile
* Minimum of 6+ years’ experience in market access, health economics, or a related field within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry
* Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring teams and leading project delivery
* Strong scientific background with the ability to engage with complex clinical and economic data
* Proven expertise in value communications, integrated evidence generation, and early asset access strategy
* Solid understanding of HTA processes and experience working with HTA submissions and outputs
* Experience working across multiple European markets, with a strong understanding of regional payer systems and access dynamics
* Track record of engaging directly with payers, including advisory board moderation and primary research
Preferred Experience
* Experience in rare diseases, specialist oncology, and/or neuroscience
* Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence both internal and external audiences
