Do you love working with children, but also enjoy management and administration tasks? Are you organised and a strong leader? Do you enjoy supporting staff to learn and develop? Do you have experience of working as a SENCO and supporting children with additional needs?
We are recruiting for a Deputy Manager and SENCO at The Priory Day Nursery in Filton. This is a full-time role – 40 hours per week, year-round. Applicants must be available to work shifts of 8 hours between 7.30am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to step up in a leadership role. The nursery manager works 4 days a week so on one day a week you will be responsible for the nursery.
We are looking for a practitioner with experience of supporting a staff team and strong knowledge of the EYFS and working with parents and outside agencies to support each individual child.
Good communication skills with children, parents and colleagues are required as well as the ability to lead a busy, thriving team.
Successful applicants will also actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring nursery policies and procedures are observed at all times. Whilst knowledge of South Gloucestershire procedures is not essential, candidates must have embedded knowledge of safeguarding principles and how to adhere to EYFS requirements.
The Priory staff are a friendly, enthusiastic team who are loved and valued by the children and parents we support and care for. The Priory is part of Bristol Childcare, a family run business operating in Bristol for over 50 years. The Priory nursery has been created from two former houses making it a really homely nursery and thriving community.
Applicants must have a good level of education and at least a L3 childcare qualification that is "full and relevant". A SENCO qualification would be welcome but is not essential.
We offer
Excellent rates of pay and contributory pension.
Up to 28 days' holiday entitlement including bank holidays (increasing to 31 after 2 years).
Sick pay after 3 years of service.
Flexible shift patterns.
Continuing professional development, training and support for all levels and qualifications.
We are
A small chain of family run day nurseries in Bristol offering flexible childcare.
An equal opportunities employer.
Committed to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people. All roles are exempt from the provisions of Section 4 (2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The role is in regulated activity and DBS (enhanced and check of the children's barred list) and reference checks are made for all our staff. Please note that it is an offence to apply for the role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
