A fast-growing real estate business is seeking a Head of Management Accounting to lead its management accounting function. The company manages a large portfolio of premium commercial properties across multiple locations, supporting a diverse range of businesses from early-stage ventures to established global organisations. With continued investment and expansion plans, the business offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment where finance plays a key role in supporting operational performance and strategic growth.
The Role
This role will lead the management accounting function for a complex multi-site real estate business. You will oversee the monthly reporting cycle, manage and develop a sizeable team, and provide commercial insight to support decision-making across the organisation.
The role combines technical finance leadership, operational reporting oversight, and business partnering across the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and manage the monthly management accounts process and reporting timetable
* Review P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis
* Coordinate month-end processes across the finance function
* Prepare consolidated management reporting
* Ensure strong financial controls and compliance with internal accounting policies
* Support the year-end audit process
Leadership
* Lead, mentor and develop a team of management accountants
* Manage team objectives, workflow planning and performance reviews
* Build a culture of accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement
Business Partnering & Analysis
* Provide financial insight and analysis to senior leadership
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes
* Deliver ad-hoc analysis including scenario modelling, cost analysis and revenue tracking
* Partner with operational and commercial teams to support strategic initiatives
Process Improvement
* Drive improvements in reporting processes, automation and systems utilisation
* Identify opportunities to streamline workflows across the finance function
* Support finance transformation and system upgrades
Candidate Profile
* Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
* Proven experience leading a management accounting function
* Experience within real estate, property, hospitality, retail or other multi-site operational businesses is highly desirable
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Proven leadership and team management experience
* Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
