About the Vacancy
The School of Applied Sciences (SOAS) at UWE Bristol is a dynamic department of approximately 100 academic staff and 60+ postgraduate researchers. It offers a range of science and health programmes and supports three research centres: the Centre for Biomedical Research (CBR), the Science Communication Unit (SCU), and the Centre for Sustainable Agri-food and Environment (SAFE). The School has state‑of‑the‑art laboratories and imaging facilities.
UWE Bristol has a proud history of delivering programmes in biomedical sciences, MSc Health Technology, and MSc Applied Transfusion and Transplant Science in partnership with NHS Blood & Transplant. Responsibilities
* Lead the development and delivery of the new MPharm programme, including curriculum design, accreditation with GPhC, and quality assurance.
* Manage and mentor the Pharmacy subject group, fostering high performance and academic excellence.
* Drive the expansion of Pharmacy through professional development courses (CPD) and research activities.
* Contribute to research with impact, advancing teaching and learning, and knowledge exchange within pharmacy.
* Engage external networks to enhance the pharmacy portfolio through new CPD provision.
* Represent the School and College of Health, Science and Society (CHSS) across the University.
Qualifications
* PhD in a relevant subject or an equivalent master’s qualification with significant professional practice.
* GPhC registration and experience of curriculum development for an MPharm (2021 curriculum).
* Established record of esteem in pharmacogenomics, personalised prescribing, cancer biology, patient engagement, or pharmacy education.
* Strong leadership and organisational skills, with a track record of fostering teamwork and collaborative research.
* Demonstrated ability to keep abreast of latest developments in pharmacy and external best practice benchmarks.
