Band 5 Occupational Therapist
Community Mental Health Team – North Hub Older adult CMHT
An exciting opportunity has arisen for permanent band 5 to join our Community Mental Health Team.
Role Overview
The successful applicant will work closely with the band 6 OT, Consultant Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Community Mental Health Nurses and Admiral Nurses, and maintain close links with in‑patient units, CERTS (Community Enablement and Recovery Team), OPIP (Older People Intervention Programme), and Social Services. The CMHT also liaises with primary care, specifically GP’s, and the third sector.
Responsibilities
* Undertake comprehensive OT assessments using a number of standardised tools and models, including MOHO (Model of Human Occupation).
* Apply formulation skills to set appropriate goals and work with the service user to achieve these goals through appropriate interventions.
* Contribute to the division‑wide OPIP service, offering interventions in group and one‑to‑one settings for service users with organic and/or mental health needs.
* Receive direct supervision from the band 6 OT.
Training & Supervision
The Mental Health Services for Older People division values the role of occupational therapy within its teams and promotes regular managerial, professional and clinical supervision. Training opportunities and support for continuing professional development are also available.
