Consultant Anaesthetist (Fixed Term, 6 months)
Position based at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, in a busy District General Hospital with a department of over 40 people.
Clinical responsibilities
Provide anaesthesia for surgeries across a wide range of specialties, including:
* Robotics
* General Surgery
* Breast
* ENT
* Maxillofacial
* Obstetrics
* Gynaecology (general and oncology)
* Trauma and Orthopaedics
* Ophthalmology
* Paediatrics
* Day surgery at a stand‑alone unit in Dunfermline
* Support for an on‑site National Treatment Centre for elective orthopaedic work
Qualifications
* Medical postgraduate qualification (e.g., FRCA, MRCP, FFICM, etc.)
* Full GMC registration, license to practise and eligibility for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. For UK‑trained doctors evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or within 6 months of confirmed entry from interview date.
* Portfolio Pathway (formerly CESR) route doctors eligible only after award for substantive consultant post.
* Non‑UK doctors must demonstrate equivalent training, knowledge, skills and experience required for practising as an eligible specialist in the UK.
