Full Time - Permanent - High Wycombe
We are seeking an experienced construction and engineering professional with a strong academic background to lead our postgraduate programmes in Engineering Management and Construction Project Management. Candidates from both academia and industry are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
* Provide academic leadership in engineering and construction management, driving excellence in teaching, research, and industry engagement.
* Deliver outstanding, research-informed teaching and learning experiences, fostering student success and industry readiness.
* Lead and undertake professional accreditation, curriculum development, professional practice, enterprise activity, research and other scholarly activities.
* Practice an inclusive approach and support building an inclusive university community.
* Conduct effective research and scholarly activity, generate income, and align own research with teaching and learning.
* Collaborate and engage with relevant business and professional networks to promote teaching and learning and research in a professional context.
* Engage in effective doctoral supervision and develop early career research.
* Contribute significantly to knowledge through refereed conference outputs and peer‑reviewed outputs.
* Undertake collaborative research with external partners, communities, professional bodies and/or employers.
* Significantly contribute to the REF and KEF and to internal and external research and enterprise strategies.
* Deliver educational projects, secure external funding, and secure additional income.
Qualifications
* First degree in a relevant field of engineering.
* Doctoral level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
* Recognised HE teaching qualification and/or Fellowship by Advance HE.
* Expert knowledge and research in Engineering Management, Construction Project Management, Building Information Modelling (BIM), Cost Estimation and Value Engineering.
* Track record of delivering quality learning and teaching to students achieving excellent outcomes.
* Evidence as an active researcher and delivery of high‑quality research and scholarship.
* Experience of generating income or securing external project funding.
* Proven track record in delivering excellent student/customer experience.
* Active contribution to subject association or professional body.
* Experience of doctoral research supervision, personal tutoring, mentoring or supporting CPD.
* Excellent presentation and teaching delivery skills.
* Digitally able and proficient in Microsoft tools.
* Highly effective customer service skills.
