A Vacancy at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about technical services to join our team of pharmacy assistants, technicians and pharmacists to help deliver safe, high-quality medicines to our patients in a timely manner. You will be part of a team responsible for the timely provision of aseptically dispensed products, including chemotherapy, radiopharmaceuticals and intravenous additives, manufactured in line with operating procedures to provide a safe and effective service. In the absence of the Team Leader you may supervise staff and manage the day-to-day running of the unit. You will work in collaboration with Pharmacists, nurses and other Pharmacy staff, and will be expected to adhere to safe systems of work and SOPs, including checking manufactured items. Responsibilities
* Provide timely provision of aseptically dispensed products, including chemotherapy, radiopharmaceuticals and intravenous additives, ensuring products are manufactured in accordance with operating procedures.
* Supervise staff and manage the day-to-day running of the unit in the absence of the Team Leader/Unit Manager.
* Collaborate closely with other professionals (Pharmacists, nurses and other Pharmacy staff) to deliver a high-quality aseptic service and pre-packs for the Trust and external customers.
* Undertake checks of manufactured items within SOPs, including working on your own when required.
* Train staff and support the Lead Technician in providing training and re-validation of staff.
* Participate in departmental evening, weekend and bank holiday rotas, and work early and late shifts as required.
Qualifications
* Qualified Pharmacy Technician or currently undertaking NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent (or working towards the award), or the Science Medicine Technician qualification with aseptic experience.
* Based on prior experience and successful studies, there will be an opportunity to progress to a Band 5.
