Main duties of the job
You will have the chance to provide access to psychological assessment, formulation, and a range of evidence-based interventions. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing treatment options, effectiveness, and fostering collaborative care.
Your Impactful Responsibilities:
1. Empowering Interventions: You will hold a clinical caseload and deliver psychological interventions in the CRHT and acute inpatient area, making a real difference in the lives of individuals, families, and groups.
2. Inspiring Leadership: Your expertise will extend beyond direct interventions, both leading by example and by providing specialist supervision. And by supervising other psychological professionals as appropriate.
3. Knowledge Sharing: Fuel the growth of our team by developing and delivering training across acute services. Champion a stepped care model of psychological support and embed psychological care in MDT work.
4. Compassionate Support: Provide reflective, psychologically-led team supervision and post-incident support to uplift the psychological well-being and resilience of our dedicated staff.
5. Co-Creation: Be an advocate for service user empowerment. Participate in shaping psychological services together, ensuring equal voice and co-produced vision.

The teams are based within the same building, which makes it easy for communication and joint-work, whilst reducing the need to travel between different sites. We have a dedicated office space at the Willow Centre in the same hospital site that can be used for supervision and report writing.
You will join a supportive wider network of psychological practitioners across Great Yarmouth and Waveney (including CAT, CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Systemic Therapists) and there are strong links with the University of East Anglia (UEA) for teaching, supervision and support of doctoral trainees.

Qualifications
Essential
13. Doctoral level training in Clinical/Counselling/Forensic psychology (or its equivalent if trained prior to 1996), including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, accredited by the BPS
14. Ongoing further specialist training/accredited short courses or willingness to undertake these when appropriate
15. Registered as a practitioner psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
16. Supervisor training, to be a supervisor of doctoral programme clinical psychology trainees or willing to undertake training when appropriate

17. Evidence of CPD in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice as appropriate
18. Theory and practice of specialised psychological interventions (assessment and / or therapist

19. If applying at 8a, experience working as a qualified psychologist (Band 7) and able to evidence appropriate knowledge and experience in practice to enable the post holder to clinically supervise trainee psychologists
20. Experience of working with a wide variety and severity of client groups & clinical problems, in various settings, including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems
21. Experience of working with a range of complex and challenging behaviours and exercising full clinical responsibility for psychological treatment or willingness to undertake this as a newly qualified practitioner psychologist

22. Experience of representing psychology within MDT setting (clinical and organisational contexts)
