General Ledger Associate Accountant
Location: Sheffield (minimum 4 days pw in city centre office)
About the role:
Aptean is a fast growing yet well-established global software company. We are expanding our Sheffield-based UK Finance team to support Aptean’s continued growth in the UK and Europe. This role would suit a junior accountant at the start of their professional career but with a proven interest in an Accounting role and an appetite to learn as part of a fast-paced environment with a global outlook. Duties will involve all aspects of financial and management accounts;
1. Posting of month end journals (prepayments, accruals etc)
2. Coding of purchase invoices
3. Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of reconciling items
4. Analysis of trends and financial performance data
5. Responsibility for a portfolio of entities to review and monitor on a monthly basis
6. Adherence to month end procedures and timescales in order to meet Group reporting commitments;
7. Support with Group and local Statutory audits;
8. Ad hoc projects as required by management.
About you:
9. Studying AAT or in the early stages of ACA or equivalent, although different levels of experience will be considered
10. Previous experience within a finance team, including posting of journals
11. Good working knowledge of MS Excel
12. Able to organize and prioritise own workload in order to meet deadlines
13. Adaptable individual with a flexible and positive mindset
14. Strong teamwork ethic
15. European language skills would be advantageous
