Education Welfare Officer Grade SO2 (pro-rata). 36 hours per week, Term Time only.
Enfield Council is seeking an innovative, enthusiastic, and skilled individual to join our Education Welfare Service.
As an Education Welfare Officer, you will provide guidance to schools on attendance policies and the law, offer advice and support to children and their parents/carers to promote good attendance and punctuality, and make recommendations to other agencies to support vulnerable families comprehensively.
The successful candidate will have experience as an Education Welfare Officer or a similar role and will join a dedicated team responsible for promoting equality of opportunity for all children to access appropriate educational entitlement. It is essential to have the skills to work independently, manage a demanding workload, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing challenges.
A good understanding of the education system, especially regarding school attendance, is required.
The role involves traveling across the borough for home visits, visiting schools, and attending meetings.
