The Opportunity:
A fast-growing, private equity-backed manufacturing business is seeking an experienced FP&A Manager to join at short notice. This is a high-impact interim role within an SME environment, offering the opportunity to enhance financial planning, strengthen commercial insight, and support key business decisions during a period of growth.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll play a pivotal role in driving performance, improving reporting capability, and partnering with senior stakeholders across Commercial and Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnering & Commercial Insight:
1. Partner with Commercial and Operations teams to support performance delivery
2. Deliver robust financial modelling and analysis to inform decision-making
3. Provide clear, actionable insights to improve profitability and efficiency
4. Evaluate business cases, including capex appraisals and post-investment reviews
5. Drive improvements in reporting, analysis, and performance metrics
Reporting & Performance Management:
6. Own weekly and monthly reporting of sales, margin, and KPIs
7. Deliver insightful variance analysis vs budget, forecast, and prior year
8. Provide visibility on key production and operational drivers
9. Work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure accurate reporting
10. Own and develop Power BI reporting to enhance business insight
Planning & Forecasting:
11. Lead monthly reforecasting cycles, highlighting risks and opportunities
12. Support group financial planning, including 3-year modelling
13. Coordinate and manage the annual budgeting process
Continuous Improvement & Support:
14. Partner with the CFO to identify risks, opportunities, and process improvements
15. Support the wider finance function and cross-functional initiatives
16. Contribute to best practice across financial processes
17. Provide cover for the Financial Controller when required
About You:
18. Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong commercial focus
19. Proven FP&A or Commercial Finance experience, ideally in an SME or fast-paced environment
20. Strong business partnering skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
21. Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills (Power BI highly desirable)
22. Data-driven, proactive, and comfortable in a PE-backed setting
23. Able to hit the ground running in an interim capacity
