Control Room Operator Hours: Multiple shifts available (days, nights and weekends) Location: Arc Monitoring, Filton, Bristol Salary Range: £12.71 per hour (days), £13.49 per hour (nights) Overtime: Regular overtime opportunities available Contract type: Permanent, Full-time and Part-time opportunities available The Role As a Control Room Operator, you'll be responsible for monitoring live CCTV and responding to alarm activations for sites across the UK. This is a hands-on, screen-based role where attention to detail and good judgement really matter. You'll be making decisions in real time, speaking to customers and security partners, and logging incidents accurately. What you do can directly prevent crime and, in some cases, lead to arrests - so reliability and focus are key. This role suits people who are comfortable working with multiple screens, staying alert for long periods, and keeping calm when things move quickly. Many of the skills people build through gaming - such as concentration, pattern-spotting and quick decision-making - transfer well into this environment. What you'll be doing Monitoring live CCTV feeds and identifying suspicious or unusual activity Responding to alarm activations and following set response procedures Handling inbound and outbound calls with clients, customers and security teams Recording incidents clearly and accurately on the system Keeping client details and logs up to date Working closely with colleagues to ensure smooth handovers between shifts Who we are looking for You will need to have: Clear verbal communication and a professional phone manner Strong attention to detail and awareness The ability to stay organised and focused in a busy environment A team-focused approach and good reliability Flexibility to work nights, weekends and longer shifts It would be an advantage if you had: Experience in a control room, call handling, monitoring or security role An SIA CCTV licence (or willingness to complete it - fully company-funded) If you are successful. Vetting and training Because of the nature of the work, successful candidates must pass security vetting. This includes: 5 years of employment references Evidence to cover any gaps in employment You'll receive full training, including: SIA CCTV Operator training if you don't already hold the licence (All training is paid for by the company.)
