Salary: £32,938 – £40,725 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Overview
Lecturer in Digital Enterprise is a teaching role that focuses on delivering industry‑relevant coursework to students aged 16–19 and adults, primarily based at Springfield Centre, Dewsbury. The role involves planning, designing, and delivering courses that cover programming, coding, cybersecurity, robotics, game design and AI, with the goal of developing practical skills and creative confidence among learners. It also reflects Kirklees College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence.
Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging, industry‑relevant lessons and sessions that inspire students to explore the digital world.
* Plan, design and deliver courses for both secondary and adult learners, incorporating practical activities, projects and assessment methods.
* Support and challenge students of all abilities, ensuring all students reach their potential.
* Promote a positive learning environment while upholding safeguarding and welfare responsibilities for children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Level 4 qualification in a relevant field (or significant industry experience) plus a teaching qualification.
* Recent demonstrable experience in the classroom, showing the ability to engage, support and challenge students.
* Knowledge of the digital landscape and interest in AI, software development, robotics, and/or gaming.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
