Salary: £64,000 - £90,000 per annum
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our FMC Programme. This highly complex project offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a world-class scientific, engineering, and technological centre of excellence. The FMC programme is part of a multi-billion-pound, multi-year infrastructure investment supporting AWE's mission to protect the UK through nuclear science and technology.
The project involves substantial infrastructure development within the Defence Nuclear Enterprise. Location: RG7 4PR, between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking. The package includes a salary from £64,780 to £90,000, depending on experience and qualifications. AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight, and flexible working arrangements are considered.
Role Overview
Your primary focus will be steering the team to deliver complex projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards, in compliance with AWE processes. You will lead a matrix team to ensure project success, supporting AWE's critical mission.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage projects with an emphasis on governance, compliance, and reporting.
* Oversee project resources, including personnel and budget.
* Plan and coordinate project tasks and functions.
* Manage work as outlined in the Work Authorization Document (WAD).
* Lead change initiatives against the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).
* Identify and manage risks and opportunities, implementing appropriate actions.
* Perform other duties as required, aligned with business needs.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience in Front End Design Development within a regulated industry, ideally with an engineering background.
* Commercial aptitude with understanding of NEC4 contract management.
* Project Management qualification or membership, or equivalent experience.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to build relationships at all levels.
* Experience managing multiple, complex, high-value projects.
* Proficiency in creating and maintaining project documentation, including plans, risks, and dependencies.
* Ability to track project deliverables and implement KPIs and progress reports.
* Experience managing project risks and interdependencies with mitigation plans.
* Proven ability to manage projects through their lifecycle and governance processes.
