Our client, a national leader in the fashion retail sector are looking for a Print Design Manager, covering maternity, to join their team based at the Carlisle Office
Job Responsibilities include
1. Support the delivery of the design strategy and KPI’s on sales, margin and profit.
2. Input creativity within the team to share innovation, product trend and lifestyle ideas.
3. Design commercial and competitive product ranges using creativity and effective translation of our customer needs.
4. Manage the development of the product from concept design to launch, liaising with Product Technologists and Buyers ensuring that the critical path targets are met.
5. Effective operator of Adobe Creative Cloud.
6. Identify key trends, shapes, fabrics, colour and prints for your individual department/category.
7. In conjunction with the Print Design Manager, Designer, Buyer, Product Technologists and Sourcing Managers, identify new products and innovation with quality and cost in mind.
8. In conjunction with the Print Design Manager, Designer, Buyer, Product Technologist and Sourcing Manager have accountability for product fit for purpose and design packs right first time.
9. Adhere to safety, quality, copyright and legal requirements.
10. Support quality standard requirements set to maintain clear differences in quality to our competitors.
11. Seek and identify commercial product opportunities that meet department/category growth plans by keeping up to date with trends in design, lifestyle and branding, in order to predict future customer requirements.
12. Have a strong awareness of trend and be able to produce commercial and relevant trends each season for the EWM customer.
Qualities Required
13. Continually improves market share and position of product categories.
14. Delivery of right product and right trends at the right time, in line with the market.
15. Demonstrates a passion for the brand and product category with a clear focus on the customer.
16. Relevant design experience in a similar product design and development role.
17. Relevant technical, fabric and garment construction experience for given product range, knowledge of manufacturing processes and experience of working with international suppliers.
18. Confidence to influence and engage, building relationships with key stakeholders.
19. Effective communicator, presenter and team player.
20. Commercial awareness and proven creative ability.
Experience Required
21. Preferably educated to Degree level with a relevant Design qualification in Fashion/Textiles.
22. Preferably work experience gained within either a retail or supply base fashion apparel design environment.
23. Previous experience as a Print Design Manager
24. 3+ years’ experience in the retail sector as a print manager.
