Gas Operative (Support Engineer)
Join our dynamic team as a Gas Operative, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety and efficiency in gas services. As a Support Engineer, you will assist the Team Leader in locating and repairing public reported gas escapes, making safe gas service pipes or mains, and laying mains and services. Your expertise will help us maintain the integrity of our gas network!
Key Responsibilities
In this exciting role, you will:
* Support the classification and programming of gas escapes, ensuring timely and effective responses.
* Receive instructions and organize resources to carry out work efficiently.
* Assist in laying, connecting, disconnecting, commissioning, and maintaining pipework and associated equipment.
* Respond to emergencies and participate in standby duties, testing, surveying, and diagnostic work.
* Ensure excavation, backfill, reinstatement, and repair work meets necessary standards.
* Provide training, advice, and support to teams engaged in the operation and maintenance of the gas transportation system.
* Assist third parties operating near the gas transportation system with guidance and support.
* Gather information and prepare reports, contributing to technical documentation.
* Manage the ordering, receipt, inspection, and storage of equipment and materials to support operations.

Experience and Qualifications
