Part Time Bookkeeper

My client, based in Welwyn Garden City, is looking for a Part-Time Bookkeeper to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:
* Keep all financial records updated and accurate within Xero.
* Process supplier bills, handle employee expenses, and manage all payments.
* Handle all customer invoicing and chase up late payments or old debts.
* Regularly match bank and credit card statements to ensure the books are balanced.
* Create monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheets for management.
* Maintain spreadsheets to monitor what the company owes to suppliers (bought ledger).
* Help track internal budgets and assist with year-end financial tasks.
* Organise the paperwork needed for quarterly or annual VAT filings.
* Gather documentation for internal and external audits.
* Prepare and send the monthly payroll data to the external provider.
The successful candidate will have:
* Proven background as a Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role.
* Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Xero (mandatory).
* Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets for data and ledger management.
* High level of accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
* Ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
* Professional and effective at chasing overdue payments.
