They are currently seeking a dedicated Legal Bookkeeper to manage their financial records and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. Role Overview: The Legal Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing client and office accounts, and ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules. This role is crucial in supporting the firm's financial health and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and reconcile client and office accounts in accordance with SRA Accounts Rules. Process client transactions, including receipts and payments. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections. Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory financial reports. Conduct regular bank reconciliations and manage cash flow. Assist with payroll processing and related tax submissions. Collaborate with external accountants for annual audits and financial statements. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation. Qualifications and Experience: Proven experience as a bookkeeper within a legal environment. Strong understanding of SRA Accounts Rules and legal accounting practices. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Desirable: Relevant accounting or bookkeeping qualifications (e.g., AAT, ILFM Diploma). Familiarity with legal case management software.
