About the role
As a Library Assistant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the journals held at Wickford Library Store, including the editing and maintenance of a large excel database and bibliographic records on Library Management System (Alma). You will be the main point of contact for enquiries from colleagues across the service in relation to journals at the Library Store. You will undertake stock management duties including removal and disposal of duplicate journals. You will also contribute to general warehouse duties such as retrieval, reshelving of library material and other collection management activities as required.
This role includes working in a library store warehouse and therefore involves manual handling. Tasks may include using ladders, loading and moving crates, and manoeuvring trolleys and rolling stacks. Full training will be provided.
This is a Grade 5 role. The salary is £31, per annum (pro rata: £12,.52 per annum for FTE).

This is an on-campus role. It is not suitable for remote working.

This job‑share role is for 14 hours per week. Preferred regular working days are Thursday and Friday (Monday and a Wednesday may also be considered instead of Friday)
