Procurement Manager – Defence sector
Location: Farnham or Dartford – Other locations considered

With a blank canvas, you will be instrumental in developing procurement strategies, policies and processes. You will draw on your supply chain management skills to enhance the way we work together and deliver a collaborative relationship.
As a Procurement Manager, you will work on the procurement strategy with the Senior Procurement Manager. You will be responsible for the delivery of project procurement objectives and requirements. Duties Include
* Provide market intelligence, cost advice, supply chain performance management and feedback
* Support a team of procurement professionals, including training & development, staff appraisals, retention & reward, and recruitment to provide an effective procurement service for the project.
* Be responsible and accountable for the procurement process of subcontractors, materials, plant and services, in accordance with the project procurement strategy and commitments.
* Provide management information and reports in line with project requirements.
* Develop professional, robust and effective working relationships with suppliers, sub-contractors and service providers, who will provide best value to the project.

* Supply chain planning
* Experience within the construction industry or similar
* Ability to manage, plan and structure operational procurement resources
* Good communication skills (verbal & written)
* Ability to deliver robust procurement strategies
* Proven added value through procurement activity
Experience of CIPS or working towards CIPS is desirable (or chartership in another discipline such as CIOB or RICS). We are considering relevant in-job experience. Candidates must be able to access project sites in Dartford or Manchester.
