Project Manager – Fire & Security (Small Works) Location: Central London (On-site) Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 Basic Hours: 7:00am – 7:00pm (Flexible) Weekend Work: Approximately 1 weekend in 4 (not guaranteed) We are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager / Small Works Manager to deliver fast-paced fire and security projects, ensuring works are completed on time, within budget, and to a high quality standard. This role focuses on fire alarm systems and CCTV installations across complex sites in Central London. The successful candidate will manage the design, installation, and commissioning of projects while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities Develop a clear understanding of client requirements through meetings, site surveys, and collaboration with consultants Manage small works projects from planning through to completion Oversee financial forecasting, payment applications, and cost management Work closely with account managers to ensure financial targets and project margins are achieved Manage project scope including variations, installation quality checks, and health & safety compliance Communicate project progress with clients and stakeholders Resolve issues during project delivery to maintain high customer satisfaction Produce risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) and ensure works follow H&S guidelines Manage subcontractors and engineers, ensuring works are delivered safely and efficiently Coordinate with internal teams to ensure projects follow established small works processes Essential Requirements Previous experience in a Project Manager / Small Works Manager role within Fire & Security or similar environments Experience working on large or complex sites SMSTS (or willingness to obtain) ECS Black Card Strong knowledge of fire alarm design and BS5839 standards Good understanding of CCTV and security systems Proven experience in financial forecasting, reporting, and pipeline management Ability to manage subcontractors operationally and financially Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills Desirable IOSH or other Health & Safety qualification APMP or PRINCE2 qualification Level 3 Fire & Emergency Systems or Electrical Installation Benefits Annual performance-based bonus Pension scheme with employer contributions up to 10% 26 days annual leave bank holidays Option to buy or sell up to 5 additional holiday days Long-term career development within a growing engineering environment
