Location: Triple R, Parkwood, Rainham.
Contract: Full time. Term Time Only. 32.5 hours a week, pro rota to 39 weeks a year.
Salary: HLTA range – NJC C2 scale 12 – 25 (£27,711 – £35,235 pro rota)

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our specialist SEMH Hub. This is a unique opportunity to work in a supportive setting designed for pupils who require a holistic, relationship-focused approach to learning and behaviour.
What You’ll Do
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs, including those on reduced or flexi timetables.
* Deliver targeted interventions and contribute to individual support plans.
* Use de-escalation and behaviour management strategies (e.g. Team Teach) to maintain a calm, safe environment.
* Support the implementation of restorative and relationship-based behaviour policies.
* Work closely with home school teachers, SENCOs, RIT therapists, families and external agencies to ensure holistic support.
* Monitor and record pupil progress and wellbeing using school systems.
* Work with home schools on reintegration plans
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
* HLTA status or equivalent experience.
* Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
* Calm, confident, and compassionate approach to behaviour management.
* Understanding of SEND needs and adapting curriculum.
Desirable:
* Team Teach or similar training.
* Experience in a hub, nurture group, or alternative provision.
* Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and emotional regulation strategies.
