Booking Clerk-Cardio-Respiratory, Grimsby Community Diagnostic Centre

The closing date is 29 October 2025

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a booking clerk to work at Grimsby Community Diagnostic Centre at Freshney place, booking Cardio‑Respiratory diagnostic tests. You will need to be flexible in your working hours, as the post will be Monday to Friday 9‑1 predominantly, however the need to work afternoons may be required at a later date when activity increases to fit the service needs. The need to work at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby may also be required from time to time when workloads require this.

The post holder will be responsible for a variety of administration and clerical functions, arranging appointments using an electronic scheduling system, contacting patients via telephone and managing appointment attendances on the systems.

You will be expected to display a pleasant and caring approach, especially when dealing with patients.


Main duties of the job

Operational use of Diagnostic Information Systems (e.g., CVIS, Lorenzo) to register patients attending the departments, ensuring the data entered is accurate and correct.

Answer telephone queries in a timely manner.

Demonstrate own tasks to new starters as directed.

Work with other patient administration departments in line with the continuing needs of the NHS plan and other developments in health care.

Attend any relevant training courses necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the role and maintain personal development.

Understand and adhere to the concept of Confidentiality to ensure that this important aspect of care is not breached.

Safeguard at all times the confidentiality of information in relation to patients and staff. Information relating to identifiable persons must on no account be divulged other than to an authorised person.

Person Specification


Education and Qualifications

* Good level of General Education
* NVQ 2 in Administration or willingness to work towards NVQ Level 2
* Attained NVQ 2 in administration
* Keyboard Qualifications / relevant


Occupational Experience

* Previous experience of working in a customer services environment
* Working within a change environment
* Experience of scheduling / coordinating activities and/or resources
* Time Management Skills or experience of working with a busy/demanding environment
