Overall responsibility for the quantity surveying function and commercial performance of all allocated contracts, including maximising working capital at a contract level.
Key Accountabilities
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible, in conjunction with the Operations personnel, for the financial management and performance of all allocated contracts, including measurement, valuation, payment, and reporting.
The QS must ensure revenue is promptly applied for and collected in line with contract terms.
Support the Commercial department in pre-contract and tender activities.
Negotiate and agree terms & conditions for contracts & sub-contracts awarded to Heidelberg Materials Contracting, liaising with legal advisors as needed.
Establish financial management and control systems for contract execution.
Participate in procurement and engagement of sub-contractors and suppliers, defining responsibilities and terms.
Manage revenue, costs, cash collection, and reporting during the contract lifecycle, adhering to company standards.
Review and verify customer payments, monitoring due dates, including maintenance periods & staged payments.
Prepare and approve subcontractor payment certificates.
Produce financial and commercial reports and forecasts for the Civils Chief QS and other stakeholders.
Report unsafe practices observed on-site.
Ensure knowledge of statutory requirements, including health & safety regulations relevant to the scope of work.
