The vacancy is for a Project Manager who will lead and manage delivery of projects across various MTC Technology Themes and industry sectors, ensuring customer needs are captured and integrated into project proposals.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage successful delivery of a number of projects working across various MTC Technology Themes and industry sectors.
* Ensure customer needs are clearly captured, understood, and effectively built into project proposals.
* Liaise with resource owners / team leaders to ensure effective use of resources in delivering project quality, cost & delivery within project scope.
* Manage changes to project scope via the recognised Change Request process.
* Act as champion for BMS project management processes, tools & techniques.
* Contribute to continuous improvement activities related to PM tools and processes.
Communication
* Articulate and able to effectively communicate at all levels of the business.
* Provide clear and concise communication to key stakeholders in a timely manner, ensuring they are briefed on mission-critical issues and remedial plans are fully agreed.
Innovation
* Contribute to continuous improvement activities related to PM tools and processes.
* Identify opportunities for maintaining and updating performance standards.
Knowledge
* Experience with Microsoft project management tools including MS Project and Excel.
* Some knowledge of working on partially State funded projects.
* Numerate with a strong focus on financial management.
* Identify resource requirements and negotiate availability with resource owners / team leaders.
Person Specification
* A strong leader with significant experience in a busy projects-based/professional services environment.
* Experience and a working understanding of delivering projects in an engineering/professional services environment.
* An organised yet flexible approach with the ability to influence/deliver through others.
* A natural investigatory nature with strong analytical skills.
* Demonstrable knowledge of PMP and PMO.
* Results driven self-starter with a positive CAN-DO approach focusing on solutions rather than problems.
* Embraces personal and professional development.
