St Margarets Hospice Care has a fantastic opportunity for a Clinical Educator to join our Education and Learning team.
You will join us on a permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of£29,770.72 per annumfor 28 hours per week (based on a full-time salary of £39,340).
This role is based at our Taunton Hospice.
Main duties of the job
Working across the whole hospice, you will take the lead in clinical skills education and all other areas of clinical learning. You will play a vital role in:
* Creating a supportive learning environment Contribute to building a highly skilled workforce, enable learners to become skilled practitioners, and advocate for the best end of life care in Somerset.
* Building a skilled workforce- Support clinical staff of all grades and disciplines to achieve their professional objectives, bridging the gap between theory to practice.
* Developing the clinical workforce of the future Take thelead on upskilling staff and ensuring that excellent care is maintained.

The post holder will support all grades and discipline ofclinical staff to achieve professional objectives in order to bridge the gapfrom theory to practice through the development, implementation andmonitoring of training and development needs of an integrated clinical team.The post holder will also work across the hospice to support organisationalpriorities.

Thepostholder will lead on upskilling staff and ensuring that excellent care ismaintained

The post holder will be responsible as a member of the team forthe maintenance of a high standard of education and learning aligned to theorganisations values
Working with the ClinicalEducation Lead and the Education and Learning team in the ongoing developmentof training and education programmes for clinical staff at the Hospice, inorder to ensure high quality care and patient safety.
Responsibilities
Working closely with the ClinicalEducation Lead to:
* Plan and produce appropriate training coursesand resources for both St Margaret's Staff and external audiences.
* Lead the planning and delivering ECHO the onlinecommunity of practice for external audiences planning and delivering programme,advertising, and monitoring.
* Working with IPU and community teams, plan and delivera programme of clinical skills upskilling for all level staff including supportto competencies
* Support students on placements across the hospice
* Contribute to innovation in learning e.g., developmentof VR in learning
* Evaluate learners progress andperformance, varying the approach and resources as required.
* Actively contribution to smile, thelearning management system content, compliance, development, andmaintenance
* Work closely with key clinicalstakeholders such as clinical governance and leadership of IPU and community teams.
* Have aflexible approach to the working week, being prepared to travel to Yeovil andother training venues. Taunton is the work base.
Person Specification
Education/ Qualifications
* Experienced clinical educator
* Experience of educating in a health care setting
* Further qualification in clinical education
* Coaching qualification
* Experience of End-of-Life care
* Being a good role model with high standards of clinical expertise.
* Ability to create a positive learning environment to individuals within a diverse group
* Open to learning with a growth mindset
* Confidence to teach a variety of groups
* Empathy and engagement with staff volunteers and patients
Working with others
* Thorough and up to date knowledge of best practice in clinical education
* Experience in teaching and supervising clinical learners
* Have knowledge of practice placement requirements, and knowledge of current local and national guidance and priorities related to this role.
* Experience of student Nurse or allied health professional placements and key relationships with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)
