Housing support officer

East Grinstead
Turning Tides
Supported housing officer
Posted: 1h ago
Offer description

This service is a medium to low support project where residents are provided support and intervention to improve tenancy sustainment skills. Through a trauma-informed and strength-based approach, you will move residents toward permanent accommodation, ensuring any necessary 'wrap-around' support is in place. This may include working with mental health, substance misuse, and debt services.

You will work with residents on a 1:1 basis and facilitate group work. Support includes assistance with benefits awards and other mental health or physical support needs in collaboration with partner agencies and GPs. The goal is to help residents gain and sustain a tenancy within their locality.

Additionally, you will support the Move on Housing Manager with housing management tasks, including health and safety compliance, income collection through housing benefit, and the project service charge. The role may require covering for staff leave and sickness across the Move on Housing District, attending meetings with internal and external partners. Flexibility to work outside standard hours may be needed. Working across Move on Housing North projects is essential.

This role may suit applicants with transferable skills, not necessarily from within the homelessness sector.
