We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join the team on a bank basis at HMP Lancaster Farms, a Category C male prison located on the outskirts of Lancaster. HMP Lancaster Farms offers a fast paced, unique rewarding environment to learn and develop.
Join the Recovery Team and empower those whom wish to make changes in their behaviour to promote health and well-being through recovery from drugs and alcohol.
This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care.
Hours:
This is a bank position, with shifts falling between 8am - 4pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Salary:
This is a bank position and the hourly rate is £15.80 per hour.

What you'll be doing
* Delivering outstanding care to psychosocial patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback - ensuring that their care is personalised and tailored to the individual
* Manage a caseload of patients with varying needs, including substance misuse, mental health, trauma etc
* Providing a programme of psychosocial interventions and comprehensive assessments
* Provide information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cessation, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices
* Prepare patients for release and transfer
* Delivering care on a 1-1 basis as well as group sessions
* Assisting the healthcare team across other pathways as needed, including second signing

Our new Substance Misuse Recovery Worker will:
* Have experience within Substance misuse, ideally a prison / secure environment, and ideally within a Recovery Worker / Practitioner role
* Have experience of working within the substance misuse multi-disciplinary framework, which includes housing, social care, health care and mental health pathways
* Have a flexible approach, and excellent communication skills
* Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
