About The Role We are seeking a talented and passionate Full Stack Software Engineer to join either a software delivery team which is already supporting, or about to start supporting projects initially within the Defence sector, but with opportunities to work in other sectors in the future.
What You'll Do
* Take ownership of and lead on the development of application functionality and features.
* Collaborate closely with the technical lead, UX/UI designers and product owner to translate user stories into application features.
* Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and performant applications.
* Write clean, well-documented, and testable code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
* Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
* Implement and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
* Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, frameworks, and best practices.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and tools.
* Mentor junior engineers.
Were Looking For Someone With
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* Proven professional experience as a Software Engineer or similar role (3-4+ years).
* Strong background and experience in delivery through Agile methodologies.
* Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript.
* Experience of full stack development.
* Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git).
* Understanding of software development best practices, including testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
It Would Be Advantageous If You Also Had
* Prior experience working in the Defence domain.
* Understanding and/or practical experience of working within Secure by Design (SbD) principles (ie/ JSP 440/604).
* Familiarity with AWS.
* Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
* Experience with React.
* Experience with Express.
* Experience with the Elastic stack.
* Experience with graph databases.
* Experience of end-to-end testing using Cypress or Playwright.
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
* Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
Location
Our Head Office is based in Salford Quays, Manchester, with satellite teams in London and Gloucestershire. We offer hybrid working with part of the week on-site as needed, typically a maximum of one or two days per week, though you’re welcome to spend more days in the office if preferred. For this role, we are interested in applicants who may be based in other locations, including Greater Manchester, Portsmouth, Cambridgeshire or Malvern.
About You
We’re looking for someone with strong experience in developing software solutions and a proven ability to deliver at pace. You should have opinions on:
* What good code looks like (front end or back end)
* How to select appropriate technologies for a solution
* How to spot smells in the code
Knowledge of developing on the cloud is preferred but not essential. Solid fundamentals in software development, systems integration, problem solving, and teamwork pave the way. A degree may be in a related field, but you can demonstrate your path to success regardless.
Pay And Benefits
Naimuri pays competitively within the industry based on the role’s base location rates. The salary for this position is dependent on your experience, and seniority is assessed during the interview process. A full-time week is 37.5 hours with flexible scheduling. We offer part-time options as well.
Core hours are 10:00am – 3:00pm and office hours are 07:30 – 18:00, Monday to Friday.
